BABY STEPS

Baby steps,
The first few movements the infant makes independently, on its own.
Without guidance of any sorts.
Without doubt.
The very first achievements of babies,
Of what we once were
Of us all,
Our very first accomplishments.

To think we were told to stop But we moved on.
To think we were told to stay put But we moved.
To think we were told, not now, But we moved.
We disobeyed.
We defied.
We persisted in our belief of ourselves.

We have come this far because we believed in ourselves, not anyone. 
Ourselves.

Did we walk immediately? I doubt it
Did we stop after our first fall? I doubt it
Did we after our 2nd or 3rd...? I doubt it.
We'd probably be disabled today if we stopped after a fall, after each fall.
We'd b crippled, marvelled at those who walk without falling, without a limp, with all d gait only royalty was born with.

One day, we'll walk.

We'll get there.
All of us.
Not at once of course but eventually, we'll all walk like royalty.
